The basic concept of energy healing is that everything in the universe is energy – including you. Your health, relationships, well-being, how you respond to reality, and even what happens in your life are largely a reflection of the harmony or disruption in your energy flow. It also works the other way around – how you take care of your body, mind, and environment also affects your energy. All four of these elements are closely linked and constantly influence each other. Energy healing is an attempt to restore balance in your energy layer through various techniques.

Types of energy healing

There are many types of energy healing, which differ in terms of techniques and traditions. Reiki, which originated in Japan, focuses on transferring energy through the therapist’s hands and intention to support your natural self-healing processes. Techniques such as Theta Healing, working with chakras and meridians, and guided meditation with visualizations in specific states of consciousness also belong to the wide range of energy therapy tools. We can also mention shamanism, Wicca, working with the elements, Total Biology, working with angels, working with the soul, working with Mother Earth and the Source of the Universe, Sacred Geometry, and Metatronia. All of them assume that your body is not only physical but also subtle, that your mind is not only consciousness but also subconsciousness and superconsciousness, and that reaching this invisible dimension can bring measurable results.

We could say that sound therapy (for example, the sounds of gongs or Tibetan bowls), acupuncture, and lithotherapy are also closely related to energy therapy, because their goal is to cleanse your aura, chakras, and meridians and support you with specific vibrations and pure energy.

What is Reiki?

Reiki is a Japanese technique for energy healing. It is based on the idea that a life force energy flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one’s “life force energy” is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.

The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words – Rei which means “God’s Wisdom or the Higher Power” and Ki which is “life force energy”. So Reiki is actually “spiritually guided life force energy.”

A treatment often feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. Reiki treats the whole person including body, mind, aura and spirit and creates many beneficial effects including relaxation and feelings of peace, security and well-being. It is a simple, natural and safe method of spiritual healing and self-improvement that everyone can use. It also works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery.

Cultures around the world have similar philosophies dating back centuries. Traditional Chinese medicine has the concept of qi, a vital life force energy that flows through living things. Indian philosophy offers the concept of prana, a life-giving energy force that flows through your chakras.

You must be some kind of wizard?

And although it all sounds suspiciously simple or even magical, at least one million Reiki practitioners around the world use this method with confidence in its effectiveness – not only face-to-face, but also at a distance. We are all unfortunately too attached to science, logic or measurability, forgetting that not everything can be measured and studied. The world is far more complex and multilayered than we think and than science is capable of describing. Even scientists themselves admit this, e.g. Nikola Tesla once said “If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequencies and vibrations.”

Applications of energy healing

In practice, energy healing proves useful in situations where traditional methods of treatment do not provide full support, when you want to approach your life more holistically, or when you are looking for deeper inner balance. It can support you in reducing stress, treating pain, healing illnesses, and working with emotions, traumas, and relationships. Very often, energy therapy also accompanies people in their development processes – it helps them open up to intuition, mindfulness, and a sense of meaning. Many people say that thanks to it, they regain peace, better sleep, and a sense of inner harmony.

Scientific research and challenges in evaluating energy therapy

If you look at scientific studies on energy healing, you will notice that it is not an area that is easy to assess clearly. Many studies point to positive effects, especially in reducing stress and improving well-being, but the mechanisms of action are not yet fully understood. Science, operating mainly in the physical and material dimension, is still looking for tools that would allow it to precisely measure subtle energy fields. However, the fact that some phenomena are difficult to capture with modern methods does not mean that they do not exist. The history of science shows that many things – from radio waves to microorganisms – were invisible and incomprehensible before the appropriate instruments were invented.

Today’s quantum physics suggests that the universe is much more complex than ever imagined. So we are talking about an area where the boundaries between science and spirituality are beginning to blur. Perhaps in the future, research will allow us to understand the mechanisms of energy therapy in a more scientific and measurable way. Already, however, there are medical facilities, mainly in the United States, that have included Reiki, for example, in their offerings as a complementary therapy. This usually takes place within the framework of so-called integrative medicine, which combines conventional methods of treatment with alternative therapies.

If you like a scientific approach, here you can read about research conducted in March 2025 on 661 people. Their conclusion is: “The review involved 661 participants aged 14 years and above, showing a significant enhancement in quality of life post-Reiki therapy. The subgroup analysis showed that Reiki therapy interventions with a frequency of ≥ 8 sessions and a duration of ≥ 60 min and acute interventions of ≤ 20 min were most effective in improving quality of life. (…) Quality of life showed significant improvement in cancer patients, chronic disease patients, and healthy individuals”. Source: PubMed Central.

Most scientific research concerns meditation and mindfulness – there are already hundreds of studies available. They confirm the effectiveness of meditation as a method to promote health – both physical and mental. Multiple studies have shown that practicing meditation – especially techniques such as mindfulness – lowers levels of cortisol, the stress hormone. People who meditate regularly may have better immunity, are less prone to inflammation, and have better heart and overall cardiovascular function. But most importantly, meditation helps reduce symptoms of anxiety, depression and insomnia, improve mood and self-awareness, and increase mental resilience. Therapies such as MBCT (Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy) are often used to treat depression and mental relapse.

Scientists and educators supporting energy work

Today, you will find many well-known speakers and scientists who have contributed to the popularization of energy work.
Dr. David R. Hawkins, a psychiatrist and author of the concept of the “Map of Consciousness,” claimed that different states of consciousness have different energy frequencies that affect your life and health. His work combined psychology, spirituality, and physics, inspiring thousands of people to work on raising their energy levels.
Dr. Joe Dispenza became famous for teaching how meditation and changing your state of consciousness can affect your brain, body, and energy field. He combines neurobiology with spiritual practice, showing that your thoughts and emotions have a real impact on your health.
Dr. Bradley Nelson, a chiropractor, developed “The Emotion Code” method, which assumes that blocked emotions stored in your body can lead to disease. Working with energy in this context involves releasing these blockages, which supports the healing process.
Dr. Bruce Lipton, a cellular biologist, proves in his research on epigenetics that your beliefs and state of consciousness have a real impact on gene expression. In his view, the energy of your thoughts and emotions is key to how your health develops.
Dr. Gabor Maté, a physician specializing in trauma psychology and psychosomatics, points out that unprocessed emotions and stress can manifest themselves in the body as illness. Although he focuses more on psychology than on subtle energy fields, his approach confirms that your emotions and experiences shape your biology and health.

When you delve into the world of energy healing, you discover a space where science and spirituality begin to speak a common language. Although modern research is not yet able to fully explain all the mechanisms, there is growing evidence that working with energy brings real results. You can treat energy therapy as a support – not instead of, but alongside conventional medicine – and take from it what helps you regain peace, health, and harmony.

Western culture versus the rest of the world

In Western culture, you are accustomed to viewing health and reality through the prism of science – through facts that can be measured, proven, and recorded in numbers. Your thinking is shaped by the logic of academic medicine and technology, which have greatly facilitated life and prolonged human existence. However, this way of thinking is not dominant everywhere in the world. In many cultures, for thousands of years, health and harmony have been understood not only in physical terms, but also in energetic and spiritual terms. There, energy healing is not an alternative or a curiosity, but a natural part of everyday life, as obvious to you as a doctor or laboratory. This allows you to take a broader view – to see that your body and mind are only part of a larger whole, which other traditions describe in terms of energy, spirit, and balance.

Energy in Traditional Chinese Medicine

When you look at Chinese culture, you see that working with energy is fundamental to understanding health. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) has been based on the concept of Qi for thousands of years – a universal life force that flows through your body via energy channels called meridians. If the flow of Qi is disrupted, illness occurs, and restoring harmony allows for recovery.
In this context, acupuncture, acupressure, and qigong are not treated as alternatives, but as natural methods of balancing energy. In Chinese culture, ensuring the free flow of Qi is just as important as a proper diet and healthy lifestyle. For you, this means that the harmony of your energy, emotions, lifestyle, and the energy of the environment in which you live are an integral part of your health.

Energy in Ayurveda

In Indian culture, energy is perceived somewhat differently, but it is also considered a central element of life. Ayurveda talks about prana – a subtle force that you breathe in and absorb through food, contact with nature, and spiritual practices. Prana circulates in your body through energy channels called nadis, and the nodes of these channels are the well-known chakras.
Ayurveda treats health as a balance not only of the physical, but also of the energetic and spiritual. Practices such as pranayama (breath control), meditation, and yoga are ways to regulate the flow of prana. When your energy flows freely, you feel vitality, clarity of mind, and inner peace.

Energy in other cultures

It is not only China and India that treat energy as the foundation of life. Many cultures around the world have their own traditions of energy healing, which are as natural as breathing or eating.
In the indigenous cultures of North and South America, shamans work with spirit energy, often through rituals, singing, dancing, or the use of medicinal plants. For you, this means encountering the concept of energy not only on an individual level, but also on a communal level – healing is intended to restore balance to the entire tribe, not just one person.
In Hawaiian traditions, you will find the concept of mana – the inner life force present in every human being and in all of nature. The ho’oponopono ritual, still practiced today, is a way of cleansing energetic relationships and restoring harmony in the community.
In Japan, as you already know, practices such as Reiki were developed, in which universal energy flows through the practitioner to the person in need of support. It is natural for Japanese culture to believe that energy has no boundaries and can be directed by intention.
Even in ancient Egypt and Greece, you will find traces of working with energy. The Egyptians used temples as places of spiritual and energetic regeneration, and the Greeks, especially in the Pythagorean tradition, believed in the vibrations and harmony of numbers that shape reality and health.

A common element of many cultures

When you compare these different traditions, you notice that despite different languages and symbols, they all say the same thing: your health and life depend on the harmonious flow of energy. In China, you call it Qi, in India – prana, in indigenous cultures – spirit, in Polynesia – mana. No matter where you look, you will find the same truth: man is not just a body, but part of a larger energy field with which it is worth staying in balance.

There are so many alternative paths….

When you look at health and life solely through the prism of science, you can gain a sense of security because everything can be measured, described, and proven. But sometimes it’s worth taking a step back and looking at yourself in a more holistic way. Your body, emotions, mind, energy, and soul do not exist in isolation from each other – they intertwine and co-create your everyday life. Working with energy, present in so many cultures around the world, reminds you that a human being is not just a collection of organs, but part of a larger field of life.
This approach does not necessarily conflict with any religion or worldview, because it does not impose a single truth – rather, it opens the door to finding your own balance. Even though our laboratories are becoming more and more modern, nature and the universe still hide thousands of unknowns from us. In this space, intuition, the heart, or even simple curiosity can be your guides.

You can approach energy healing with an open mind, remembering that if it proves ineffective, you will lose nothing. And if what more than a million Reiki practitioners alone believe around the world is true, you gain the chance for profound transformation. When you are struggling with illness, depression, stress, or anxiety, it is worthwhile – and perhaps even necessary – to seek out different forms of support. Because health and life are not just about biology, but also about the energy you carry within you and which you can consciously nurture.

Don’t get me wrong, science and medicine are wonderful and save our lives. But there are many more methods and ways to heal ourselves, free ourselves, cleanse ourselves and start living a free, beautiful and happy life. These methods have often been known for thousands of years, but because of our craving for modernity, we simply forgot about them. It is worth returning to them. It’s worth going back to herbs, healthy natural foods, meditation, yoga, tai-chi, acupuncture, massages, reflexology, aromatherapy, being in nature (forest baths), numerous breathing methods, sound therapy, or just energy healing and Reiki. It’s worth trying, instead of relying only on pharmacology and surgery. There are incredibly many paths to a better and full life – find your own way and move forward. Remember that you are 100% responsible for your life. Be open-minded, explore, try, experiment.

Just give it a try

So if you would like to give it a try, I invite you to take part in a 28-day experiment. You have nothing to lose. Contact me and let me know what you would like to change or heal in your life. I have also created a separate program on stress and anxiety, during which you will receive a daily email from me with tips, techniques, wisdom, and philosophy that can help you make your life and yourself more peaceful.

How much does it cost? There’s no fixed fee. My intention is to help you first and foremost. After 28 days, you can decide for yourself how much it was worth to you and how much you want to pay. If you feel it didn’t help, that’s perfectly fine – you owe nothing. All funds go toward spreading this project so that more people can learn how to heal themselves, reduce stress and anxiety, grow spiritually, and live a calmer, more fulfilling life.

We don’t have to meet every day in person or even on a video call. Energy knows no limits of place or time – it is everywhere, and everything that exists is energy. This allows me to work with you regardless of where you are, and you can experience the process at your own pace and in your own environment. During these 28 days, I take care of the following elements:
– Harmonizing the work of the chakras and meridians.
– Cleansing the aura, the connection to your soul, Source and Mother Earth.
– Releasing emotions, traumas, negative beliefs, blockages, burdens.
– Removal of curses, condemnations, black magic, hypnosis.
– Healing of relationships, conflicts.
And many other elements. Everyone is different and has a different story, so I don’t have a specific checklist for this, but I follow you and what works best for you.

Why does it take 28 days? One session can bring noticeable relief and improve your mood, but – as with other therapeutic, medical, or self-development programs – the best and most lasting effects occur when we work in a longer sequence. 28 days is the time it takes for energy to transform and harmonize, for your body and mind to learn new habits, and for you to gain the space to look at your issues, try to heal them on different levels, and build a new mindset of self-care. It is a time when you can feel that you are really not giving up and that you are important to yourself.

Finally, the most important thing – even if you don’t believe in it, I do. You have nothing to lose, because you can join this 28-day energy therapy completely free of charge.
