Lantern in a darkness photo

What do you dream about? A question that sounds awfully cheesy when someone asks it to you, and you’d probably answer something shallow and stiff. But now ask that question to yourself. No one will know what the answer is, no one needs to know. You have to know. I know that everything in life seems so hard, the days fly by one after another, there is no time or strength for anything, and you feel like you are stuck. But you know what, today I want to remind you of one thing you may have forgotten: your dreams are still there.

Not those trendy Instagram goals. Not the kind of dreams to show others how cool you are. I mean the real ones, your own. The ones that used to make your heart beat faster. Maybe it was the desire to write a book, start your own business, travel to a place that has always called you, learn to play the guitar, or do something crazy – simply because you’ve always wanted to.

Time, money, lack of energy – I understand everything. But that doesn’t mean those dreams are gone. They are just waiting for you to notice them again. And you know what, you can get back to them. Not all at once, but in small steps. One 10-minute Google search. One notebook of ideas. One conversation with someone who could help you. One rental of some equipment or one lesson with an instructor. That’s enough to get you started. See if it still turns you on, if it still makes your heart beat harder.

If it’s still difficult to name even one dream… sit in silence. Brew some tea, turn off the distractions and ask yourself: what used to turn me on? What did I want to do before life started to squeeze me and responsibilities started to chase me? Don’t judge it. Just listen.

Dreams are like a lantern in the darkness

Dreams are not a luxury. They are a compass. They also show us who we really are and where we want to go. They are what allow us to feel joy, meaning and flow again. And in those darkest moments – dreams are like a fire, a torch that remind us: “hey, it’s not over yet, keep going, even if there is darkness all around”.

Motivation? It won’t come from the sky. But regularity is built just by small victories. One step a day. And even if you fall – so what? You’ll get up. Because you have something to get up for.

Don’t give up on yourself. Don’t let go of those dreams. They are your hope, your meaning, your path, your lesson and experience, your fire. And I believe you can light it again. Seriously.

So, What do you dream about? You have it in you. You always have.
